Die Wanderschaft beginnt in kleinen böhmischen Landgemeinden und Kreisstädten und führt schließlich über Prag nach Wien, wo durch die Begegnung mit dem Zionismus in der Gestalt Theodor Herzls eine neue Phase beginnt. Der Erste Weltkrieg und der sich bereits abzeichnende Eintritt in das „Zeitalter Hitlers“ sind die weiteren einschneidenden politischen Ereignisse. |
