520 _aDiesel-hybrid propulsion systems for railcars are able to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in relation to conventional diesel railcars. To design such a propulsion system requires the use of simulation and experimental methods. A validation procedure is developed, that enables to test the propulsion system in several smaller tests with single powertrains.
